Using Apple Calendar to consolidate all your calendars in one place is a great way to manage your schedule and quickly join meetings.
That said, Apple Calendar is not perfect, and sometimes it stops syncing with connected calendars like Google Calendar or Outlook.
In this article, we’ll discuss different ways of solving the Apple Calendar not syncing issue to help you with that issue.
How to fix Outlook Calendar not syncing with Apple Calendar
If you’ve synced an Outlook Calendar with Apple Calendar and updates in Outlook are not displaying in Apple Calendars, possible fixes are:
1. Make sure the Outlook Calendar is selected
When having connected multiple calendars to Apple Calendar, we often forget to check/select the calendar we want to see, thus thinking Apple Calendar is not syncing.
Please make sure the Outlook Calendar is selected (✅) in Apple Calendar before taking further measures.
2. Use a Calendar Sync Tool
The easiest way to fix the Apple Calendar not syncing with Outlook Calendar is by using a Calendar Sync Tool. Calendar Sync tools communicate directly with calendars, ensuring that events are synced between calendars.
Calendar Sync Tools like OneCal also have another benefit: Events are directly synced from one calendar to another, so you don’t have to connect multiple Outlook or Google accounts to your Apple Calendar. After you sync your calendars together, all your events are going to be reflected in one account (of your choice).
OneCal is the market's most reliable calendar synchronization platform, ensuring real-time syncs between multiple calendars, fast support, and other calendar features like scheduling links.
3. Import the Outlook Account into Apple Calendar again:
The second method of fixing Outlook not syncing with Apple Calendar is by removing the Outlook Calendar from Apple Calendar and connecting it again.
To remove an Outlook Calendar from Apple Calendar and connect it again, follow these steps:
- Open Apple Calendar: You can open Apple Calendar on your MacOS device by searching “Calendar”
- Click “Calendar” on the navbar: If Apple Calendar is opened and focused, you should see a “Calendar” icon on the navbar.
- Click “Accounts”: This section contains all connected accounts (iCloud, Outlook, and more) and allows us to remove existing accounts or connect new accounts.
- Click the Outlook Account to delete: The detailed page of an account allows you to manage that account, as well as delete it.
- Click “Delete account”: This simply disconnects the Outlook account from your Apple Calendar app.
- Go to the “Accounts” page again: You can go to the “Accounts” page by following steps 1 through 3.
- Click “Add Account”: This enables you to connect multiple Google, Outlook, or iCloud accounts. For this case, we’ll add an Outlook Account.
- Click “Microsoft Exchange”: After clicking Microsoft Exchange, Apple Calendar will use the official login screen from Microsoft to connect with your Microsoft Account.
- Select “Calendars” as the apps to use for this account: After signing in, Apple Calendar asks you which apps you want to use from Outlook. These apps include Mail, Reminders, Calendars, and more. For Outlook to sync with Apple Calendar, the only required app to select is “Calendars”.
How to fix Google Calendar not syncing with Apple Calendar
If you’ve synced a Google Calendar with Apple Calendar and updates in Google Calendar are not displaying in Apple Calendars, possible fixes are:
1. Make sure the Google Calendar is selected on Apple Calendar
Similar to Outlook not syncing with Apple Calendar, it might be the case that you haven’t selected the Google Calendar in Apple Calendar, thus you can’t see the Google Calendar events in Apple Calendar.
2. Use a Calendar Sync Tool
The best way to fix Apple Calendar not syncing with Google Calendar is by using a Calendar automation tool like OneCal.
OneCal supports direct sync between calendars, meaning that if you sync your Google Calendar with your iCloud Calendar, your Google Calendar events will show up in iCloud Calendar automatically, no matter the device.
This is possible due to OneCal being able to clone events directly to iCloud Calendar and not by importing another calendar.
3. Import the Google Calendar into Apple Calendar again:
The second method of fixing Google Calendar not syncing with Apple Calendar is by reconnecting the Google Account in Apple Calendar.
This makes sure that the connection is fresh and rules out errors that might happen due to the connection being expired.
To reconnect a Google Calendar from Apple Calendar, please follow these steps:
- Open the Apple Calendar app: You can open Apple Calendar on your MacOS device by searching “Calendar”
- Click the Google Account to delete
- Click “Delete account”: This simply disconnects the Google Account from your Apple Calendar app.
- Go to the “Accounts” page again: Follow steps 1 through 3 to go to the “Accounts” page.
- Click “Add Account”: This enables you to connect the Google account again.
- Click “Google”: After clicking Google, Apple Calendar will use the official login screen from Google to connect with your Google Account.
- Select “Calendars” as the apps to use for this account: After signing in with Google, Apple Calendar asks you which apps you want to use from Google. These apps include Mail, Reminders, Calendars, and more. For Google Calendar to sync with Apple Calendar, the only required app to select is “Calendars”.
How to fix iCloud Calendar sync issues on the web app
If your iCloud Calendar web app (https://www.icloud.com/calendar/) is not syncing, please follow these steps to resolve the issue:
1. Make sure the calendar is visible (checked)
It’s not uncommon for iCloud Calendar to correctly sync the events, but the issue is that you’ve un-selected the calendar thus you can’t see the events.
To make sure the calendar is selected, please open the iCloud Calendar web app at https://www.icloud.com/calendar/ and make sure the calendar that’s not syncing is selected (✅).
2. Sync your iCloud Calendar using a Calendar Sync Tool
Apple Calendar app on MacOS is separate from iCloud Calendar (https://www.icloud.com/calendar/) on the web. This means connected accounts on the Apple Calendar app will not appear on the iCloud Calendar web.
Actually, there is no way to natively sync Outlook or Google Calendar to iCloud Calendar.

How to fix Apple Calendar sync issues on iPhone or iPad
If Apple Calendar on iPhone or iPad is not syncing, please follow these steps:
1. Make sure the Calendar is visible
Apple Calendar might be syncing correctly, but you have mistakenly unselected the calendar, thus not seeing the events. To make sure a calendar is selected in Apple Calendar on iPhone or iPad, please follow these steps:
- Open Apple Calendar
- Click “Calendars”: After opening Apple Calendar on your iPhone or iPad, click the Calendars button at the bottom of the page.
- Find the calendar that does not sync with Apple Calendar.
- Make sure the Calendar is checked ✅.
2. Reconnect the Calendar accounts
Similar to fixing the Apple Calendar app on MacOS not syncing with Google Calendar or Outlook, you can try reconnecting the imported Google or Outlook account.
The first step would be to disconnect the imported calendar by following these steps:
- Open the “Settings” app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Find the “Calendar” Section and click it
- Click “Accounts”
- Find the account you want to remove (iCloud, Gmail, or Outlook), and click “Delete Account”
After deleting the account, please follow the instructions on how to sync Google Calendar with iPhone or how to sync Outlook Calendar with iPhone (depending on which provider you want to reconnect with).
3. Make sure you have enough storage
One common reason why your Apple Calendar is not syncing on your iPhone or iPad is that you simply don’t have enough storage.
To make sure you have enough storage on your iPhone, please follow these steps:
- Launch the Settings app.
- Click "General".
- Click "iPhone Storage".
On this page, you can see your iPhone's free and used storage. A good free storage amount would be any number greater than 10Gb.
If you have less than that, please make sure to free up some storage space to accommodate calendar events and allow your iPhone to function properly.
